How to Apply

You can also apply in person to obtain a replacement or a new copyright at a customer service center. You'll need your valid copyright along with a copyright-style color photograph and any other supporting documents. You must surrender all out-of state driving licenses, permits, or ID cards prior to applying for the New York driver's licence.

If you already have a car licence (category B) you could be able to get categories C and C1+E added to your copyright immediately if you pass a driving test for a vehicle that falls in these categories. You could also add C1+E and C2+E to your license when you pass the driving test for a full-size bus (category C), or a full-size lorry (category C1E).

Requirements

You must meet certain criteria in order to apply online for your Class C license. This includes having an approved beginner's permit, completing an examination of knowledge written by a professional and passing a road test. You must also submit a identification document, proof of residence and citizenship or legal status in the US. You must also surrender your out-of-state driver's license, permit or copyright.

The Class C driver's license allows you to drive a private car with up to nine seats, cargo vehicles and tractor units with a maximum of 3.5 tonnes GVWR. The licence also permits you to drive a motorcycle with a cylinder capacity of 50 CC or more and a motor-driven cycle. There are three main kinds of driving licenses available in the United States: Non-CDL, CDL and H.
